Do have a paper, essay, or article, about concentration, distraction, disinformation, media analysis, or political communication that you want to see published in Distracted Masses? If so, we want to see what you have. Are you an independent media outlet looking to get your articles published on other sites? We can help. Distracted Masses is open to receiving articles, book reviews, poetry, photographs, art, and video to display online and in our upcoming issues. In exchange, Distracted Masses will provide you with your own advertising space as well as the freedom to publish any of Distracted Masses’ work on your own website or publication. We use a commercial creative commons license which allows content in our publication and on our website to be republished and altered by others for profit. We are utilizing the share economy to get our work out to as many people as possible, while allowing others to benefit from our work. The idea is that if more people share their work across the different alternative media outlets, the more each writer will be acknowledged, helping to create name recognition while also bringing in new readers and increasing product and/or service sales for each content creator.
We know that if your work gets published in Distracted Masses you will be proud to show it off to friends, helping to drive traffic and bring in new potential long term customers to our publication & website. And when our work is published on your site, we do the same. We tell our friends, help to drive traffic to your site, and ultimately increase revenue for your writers and content creators. Most media outlets are in competition with each other, trying to steal advertisers and subscribers from one another. It’s a zero sum game, and Distracted Masses doesn’t believe in this approach. We believe in creating win-win situations, and think the share economy is the way to make it happen. We will be developing a business plan over the next several months to help improve our ability to make the share economy work for us and our supporters. Until then, we will utilize the plan we’ve been going off so far - and that’s just to write. Do what we can, when we can, with what we got. The creator of Distracted Masses, Scott Albright, is a single dad raising three kids on his own while struggling with PTSD, so what is being done is quite amazing when considering the little amount of time and financial support Scott has received thus far. So please, take the time to send an article, a video, or piece of artwork to [email protected] and help to get the share economy rolling. Your writing is a commodity that has great value. Together we can amplify the value of that commodity.
Submitted articles should be no more than 2,000 words, using 12 point New Times Roman font, with Chicago style citations and a full list of references, not to be included in the word count. Send all submissions to [email protected] with the word SUBMISSION in the subject line. Distracted Masses is always interested in hearing your thoughts on how we can improve. Please send all suggestions, questions, or ideas to the above email. Thanks for your support!
